Jennifer Cosgrave is Country Director for the British Council in the Netherlands, based in Amsterdam. Through this role she sits at the heart of UK cultural diplomacy — using arts, education, language and shared heritage to build mutual understanding and strengthen ties between the UK and the Netherlands at a pivotal moment in the bilateral relationship.
Her career has been shaped by a commitment to social justice and inclusion — from humanitarian aid work and support for homeless communities in London, to international education and cultural diplomacy across West and East Africa, Latin America and Europe. As a trustee of CAFOD and the Rufiji Leprosy Trust, she has long championed youth engagement and leadership, working with young people in some of the world’s most underserved communities. She holds an MSc in International Development.
