Renée Hoogland is currently finishing her Leverhulme-funded doctoral research about Doggerland at the University of Southampton. Here she is affiliated with the Faculty of Arts & Humanities and the Southampton Marine & Maritime Institute (SMMI). In her research, Renée explores how the cultural imagination of Doggerland is entangled with more recent narratives of North Sea energy, governance, and national identity. Next to her doctoral project, Renée has worked in the fields of literature education, policy outreach, and provenance research in museums.
